Özet

This study investigates the relationship between green logistics (GL) and sustainable performance (SP) through a meta-analysis that synthesizes fragmented empirical evidence. It examines the impact of GL on the core dimensions of SP: financial performance (FP), environmental performance (EP), and social performance (Soc.P.). Nineteen peer-reviewed studies were selected from major databases, including Web of Science, Scopus, and EBSCOhost, yielding 35 effect sizes based on a total sample of 7,528 observations. Effect sizes were calculated using Fisher’s z transformation and analyzed with a random-effects model, while publication bias and heterogeneity were assessed using standard statistical methods. The results indicate a strong and statistically significant positive relationship between GL and overall SP (r = 0.469). Among the SP dimensions, EP shows the strongest association with GL (r = 0.520), followed by FP (r = 0.421), whereas Soc.P. exhibits a moderate relationship (r = 0.353). Analog-ANOVA analyses identify FP and EP as significant moderators, highlighting the interaction between economic and environmental outcomes in sustainability initiatives. In addition, Industrial Type, Frontier Technologies Index (FTI), Global Sustainable Competition Index (GSCI), and Country Development (CD) significantly moderate the GL–SP relationship. Overall, the study provides robust and generalizable evidence for the logistics and sustainability literature.
