Abstract

The issue of migration is one of the most discussed issues recently. The fact that the subject is multidimensional, especially in social, economic and political fields, causes it to enter the field of many academic disciplines and to be dealt with from different aspects. Migrant labor, which is a product of the phenomenon of migration, is also widely discussed for similar reasons. It is known that migrant workers who are included in the labor market as a result of regular or irregular migration face a series of problems. Low wages, long working hours, inequality, exclusion, unregistered work, lack of retirement and social security, low working standards are among the problems faced by migrant workers. On the other hand, non-delivery of rights arising from international law and guaranteed by international agreements, negative attitudes of employers, exclusion and social reactions are also frequently encountered problems of migrant workers. It is considered as a generally accepted view that these problems should be accepted first and then search for solutions should be sought. In this study, the current situation of the migration problem, the point that migrant workers have reached in terms of quantity and quality are summarized, and then the problems faced by migrant workers are examined. The rights of migrant workers in national and international law and the relevant legal regulations are discussed. At the end of the study, the search for solutions to the problems of migrant workers is included.
