Abstract

Having a cultural history dating back to 5000 years ago, tea is the second most consumed beverage following water. Türkiye is among the top ten of the 35 tea-producing countries whereas it is one of the top three in tea consumption. In this sense, it is possible to say that Türkiye is one of the most important countries regarding the production and consumption of tea in the world. Türkiye is also a very important market for tea due to the amount of tea per capita as the country where tea consumption is highest. Despite the fact that Turkish tea is the only kind of tea that is exposed to snow and grown without using any pesticides, its share in that the world’s market is only 0.3%. While there are over 100 factories producing tea in Türkiye, only four of them are prominent.

On the other hand, it is seen that public relations have become more and more important for nearly all industries recently, particularly in terms of marketing communications. This study seeks to reveal the public relations activities of businesses in the tea industry try. The study found that these businesses do not display a sufficient use of public relations.
