Election Music in Turkey (1965-2000)

Abstract

In this study, election music in Turkey between 1965 and 2000 was discussed. The main goal of election songs during election periods in Turkey is to have an impact on voters. The main reason why music is the main element used to direct the voters' preferences during election periods is the bond desired to be established with the voters. Parties aim to influence people's choices and win elections with election musical propaganda. The propaganda success of the parties on the voters with the election music that left its mark on the Turkish election history was discussed. In this context, the impact of the message to be given to the target audience, the voters, is important. In short, the perception created by the election propaganda between 1965 and 2002 on the voters was examined in the study.
