Abstract

In the study in which teachers' views on the problems experienced by new classroom teachers were revealed; a case study design, which is one of the qualitative research designs, was used. The study group of the research consisted of 25 classroom teachers with a maximum of 3 years of seniority who were new to the profession in Şanlıurfa Haliliye and Eyyübiye Districts in the 2023-2024 academic year. The data were determined through a semi-structured interview form consisting of six open-ended questions and the qualitative data obtained from the interview were obtained by content analysis, which is a descriptive analysis technique. According to the findings of the study, the most frequently mentioned problems in terms of teachers' opinions on the problems experienced by new classroom teachers the overcrowded classrooms, and language problems, followed by student adaptation, individual differences between students, parental indifference and cultural differences problems; In the classroom management dimension, it was concluded that they experienced language problems due to overcrowded classes, student behaviour disorder, peer bullying and students with special needs were factors in the difficulties; in the teaching method and technique dimension, it was concluded that they experienced problems in terms of readiness and time due to the high number of students, and the methods they used to solve these problems were senior teachers, support from the administration in the problems they experienced at school, and interest in students.
