Anxiety about the future, which is one of the sources of individual religiosity, is the subject of this study. As it is known, the emotional unrest that a person experiences as a result of seeing his physical and spiritual existence in danger in the future causes fear and anxiety in the person. If we briefly define the concepts, the emotion felt in the face of the dangers caused by a real and potential threat to survival, which is a central system of the human organism, is called fear, while the feeling of uneasiness and uneasiness experienced by the person despite the absence of any concrete danger, the reason for which is unknown, is called anxiety. Since the history of humanity, individuals have believed in various religions to cope with their anxiety and fears. In this context, within the scope of the study, it is aimed to provide a brief overview of scientific research on anxiety, fear and religion, and to examine the meaning of religion in general and Islam in particular to these feelings. In this context, the effect of fears and anxieties about the future on the individual's orientation to religion has been investigated, and it has been concluded that the basic principles, symbols and rituals of religion provide opportunities for the individual to cope with these feelings.
