Abstract

Nurses also assume important duties and responsibilities in clinical practice as do physicians. A number of ethical problems and dilemmas occur, between the same or different professional disciplines during these practices. One of the most important ethical and legal problems faced in clinics today anxiety experienced by newly employed nurses about assuming these duties and responsibilities. For a newly graduated nurse to gain professional experience, it is important to go through a planned orientation process. After the completion of such process, newly graduated nurses can be expected to adapt themselves to clinical tasks. In this case examined, the actions taken by a nurse, who has recently graduated from a nursing department, in situations that challenge her/his knowledge and skills despite the orientation training she/he received and the analysis of such actions from the ethical and legal point of view. We think that the situations presented in this paper, which can be faced by health professionals frequently, may serve as an example and contribute to the literature.
