The main function of typography is readability. The choice of typographic characters in the design for the designer depends on the needs of the reader. Message transmission, which is the basic concept of communication, is provided by the text being readable. By bringing together the features that ensure readability, it is predicted that the reader will be able to perceive the information they want to reach with the least effort. For many years, designs have been made by considering the legibility of typography in poster art. Failure to read the typography used meant that the poster lost its functionality. The aim of this study is to examine the point at which the effects of typography on poster art have reached today. Written documents were examined and a qualitative research method was used. Contemporary typographic works of Sarp Sözdinler have been examined. As a result of the literature review, it was found that typography is not used as a tool in the use of graphic design today and that writing has turned into a design element.
