AN EVALUATION ON GRADUATE THESIS AND ARTICLES ON THE PSYCHOLOGY OF THE ELDERLY MADE IN TURKEY (2000-2010)

The research was carried out in order to determine the general trends in the postgraduate theses and articles published in the field of elder psychology between 2000-2010. Within the framework of the study, the database of YÖK National Thesis Center and Journal Park database were scanned and a total of 21 studies, including 6 master's theses, 8 doctoral theses and 7 articles, were examined. When the distribution of the theses published in the study is examined by years, it is seen that they were published mostly in 2010 (n=5). In the published postgraduate theses and articles examined, it was seen that 9 different topics were covered, including old age and life commitment, communication psychology, developmental psychology, depression / anxiety / death anxiety, forensic psychology, psychological counseling and guidance, psychological needs, religious belief psychology and self-esteem. While analyzing the data in the study, descriptive statistics were used. The studies included in the research are presented as a list.
