The concept of Agricultural Heritage Systems of Global Importance (GIAHS) differs from a traditional heritage site or protected area/landscape and is more complex. GIAHS is a system that lives and develops with human communities whose lands, cultural or agricultural landscapes or biophysical and wider social circles have a complex relationship. The resilience of the GIAHS field has been developed and adapted to deal with climatic variability and change, natural hazards, new technologies and changing social and political situations to ensure food and livelihood safety and mitigate risk. The aim of this study is to reveal the areas that can be marketed in Kahramanmaraş and to demonstrate how it can be used in urban marketing within the scope of GIAHS related to GIAHS areas that will feed the concept of "agricultural tourism portfolio of the city" in terms of urban marketing.
In the study, both literature and resource screening studies and field studies were carried out between 01.02.2021 and 12.12.2021.
In the study, it is necessary to carry out an inventory study for agricultural cultural heritages throughout Kahramanmaraş and according to these studies, Kahramanmaraş should be investigated in the form of sub-regions. In this way, it has emerged that many areas can be found in Kahramanmaraş to be included in the scope of GIAHS, but the process needs to be carried out with comprehensive research.
