THE IMPORTANCE OF CONSULTING ACTIVITIES IN FIGHTING UNEMPLOYMENT: THE CASE OF İŞKUR

Abstract

Looking for a job is a process. The longer this process takes, the greater the negative impact on the unemployed individual. Counseling activities are important in terms of shortening the job search process and reducing its negative impact on the individual. The development of consultancy activities that enable job seekers, employers and students to reach healthy and reliable information in the labor market will reduce unemployment and contribute to employment. The main purpose of this study is to reveal the importance of consultancy activities of İŞKUR in the fight against unemployment. Counseling activities are carried out by job and vocational counselors employed by İŞKUR. This study focuses on “What kind of services are offered within the scope of consultancy activities? is an answer to the question. In this study, İŞKUR data on consultancy activities were used. In addition, suggestions developed to make the consultancy services of İŞKUR more effective in the fight against unemployment, which is a current problem, are included.
