The Romantic Period, which emerged at the beginning of the 19th century, showed its influence in the fields of literature, philosophy, art and politics as well as the developments in the field of music. The romantic period is a period in which all emotions are expressed, many musical forms emerged, sharp rules were abolished and many innovations were introduced after the classical period. Composers revealed the differences and characteristics of each nation through music in this period.
Romantic Era composer Robert Schumann was the most famous composer of the period and composed his works entirely outside the classical form. Schumann, with his countless works, had the period lived in the brightest time and is the composer who influenced the period. Robert Schumann, who has a psychological disorder, reflected his melancholy thoughts during this period in his three romances for Op.94 oboe and piano.
In this research, three Romances written by Robert Schumann for Op.94 oboe and piano are introduced and examined for the musicians who will perform them, as well as the musical thoughts of the composer, the place of the oboe in the Romantic period and the characteristics of the work are referred for the performers to get to know the Romantic Period and Robert Schumann.
