NATO IN THE CONTEXT OF STRATEGIC CONCEPTS AND THE 2022 STRATEGIC CONCEPT

Abstract

This study aims to discuss the transformation of NATO's strategic concepts and the limits of this transformation since its establishment. The discussions that existed from the first strategic concept published by the alliance to the 2022 strategic concept continue today, and new ones have been added to those discussions today. In the study, after examining the history of NATO's Strategic Concepts and NATO's 2022 Strategic Concept, 2010 and 2022 Strategic Concepts are compared. The study is concluded that on one hand, NATO is right to develop a new Strategic Concept, on the other hand, the international impact of NATO's new Strategic Concept is questioned.
