SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHERS’ OPINIONS ON THE GEDEX SPECIAL EDUCATION APPLICATION

The general purpose of this research is to reveal the special education teachers’ opinions on the interactive digital special education application GEDEX. The interview method, one of the qualitative research methods, was used in the study, which was designed with a case study. By using convenience sampling and criterion sampling methods, total of 13 special education teachers working in special education schools or schools involving special education classrooms in Kahramanmaraş province were included in the research. A semi-structured interview form developed by the researcher was used to collect data. After the interviews, the data were analyzed by content analysis. At the end of the study, the results related to the services received from the application, the curriculum, and the courses taught regarding the adequacy of the application were obtained. It was determined that the achievements, content, teaching-learning and assessment-evaluation dimensions in the curriculum are compatible with each other but insufficient. It is understood from the teachers' opinions that the application has positive contributions to the teachers and students in terms of its effectiveness. The most basic emphasis in the solution proposals that put forward in order to eliminate the difficulties experienced by teachers and students is related to ensure the integration twith technology by updating.
