Abstract

Financial challenges in the global housing market have heightened the need for alternative ownership models. Developed by Dr. Semih Artün, the Fractional Housing Ownership Model (FHOM) allows multiple investors to purchase shares of a single property, thereby expanding homeownership opportunities and enhancing investment efficiency.

FHOM distinguishes itself from traditional ownership models through shareholder-based property distribution, time-based usage management, and a legally secured transfer mechanism. By increasing investors’ financial flexibility, the model facilitates easier entry into the housing market. This study examines the legal, financial, and operational framework of FHOM and evaluates its applicability across different countries.
