Uzbekistan is one of the Central Asian Turkic Republics with a history of three thousand years from antiquity to the present day and gained its freedom by separating from the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics in 1991. Uzbekistan has been home to many states, especially the Timurid State, in different periods of history. During the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, Uzbekistan's historical heritage was explored, and restoration and renovation of architectural structures were carried out. While many buildings were damaged during these works, many of them were saved. In line with the research carried out, photo albums and various reports on the architectural structures, cities and demographic structure of the period were published. After the declaration of independence of Uzbekistan, local restoration works started and restoration works of many architectural structures, especially in the cities of Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva, continued. In addition to these works, scientific, cultural and museum activities were emphasized in the new period. While the interiors of the buildings hosting these activities were built in a modern style, the exterior spaces were tried to be built according to the outdoor features of the Timur period. This study details the restoration and renovation works carried out during the Soviet Union period in Uzbekistan and investigates their effects on the architectural structures built in the new period. This study; In light of the information obtained, it is thought that it can contribute to today's Uzbekistan exterior space designs.
