Abstract

The aim of this study was to determine the perceptions of secondary school teachers about school climate. The population of the study consists of teachers in Gölbaşı Şehit Meriç Alemdar Middle School located in the Gölbaşı district of Ankara in the 2019-2020 academic year. The sample consists of 105 teachers working in this secondary school. The school climate scale developed by Canlı, Demirtaş, and Özer (2018) will be used as a data collection tool. A 5-point Likert scale was used in the survey. The statistical calculations of the research were made in SPSS 20.0 program and evaluated. In order to evaluate the results of the applied scale, firstly the findings related to the demographic factors of the participants were determined. The reliability of the scale was tested. Descriptive statistics were used to determine the average of the responses of the teachers to the statements about their opinions about school climate. The t-test and one-way ANOVA were used to determine the variation of the responses according to demographic factors. When the findings were evaluated, it was found that the school employees established social groupings among themselves.
