THE DEVELOPMENT AND IMPORTANCE OF MEDICAL DOCUMENTATION AND THE SECRETARIAL PROFESSION FROM PAST TO PRESENT

Abstract

This study, it is aimed to reveal how the medical documentation and secretarial profession has developed from past to present and its importance. For this purpose, a literature review was conducted on studies in the field of medical documentation and secretarial work. As a result, it has been seen that medical documentation has been made since ancient times. Today, the planning, coordination and supervision of the activities of health institutions depend on the reliability of the qualified and accurate information to be obtained from their own environment and lower levels. In order for health institutions to reach the necessary information, all kinds of information must be recorded and archived. Medical documentation makes serious contributions to both scientists and health institutions. With the understanding of the importance of medical documents, which have the feature of being official documents, education opportunities in this field are increasing. Medical documentation and secretarial programs are increasing in universities in Turkey and the profession is becoming widespread.
