Abstract

Organizations' achievement of their goals and objectives, their competitive advantage over their competitors, and their survival depend on their organizational success. The productivity of its employees is extremely important in ensuring efficiency and performance, which are the leading indicators of organizational success. Therefore, it becomes inevitable for organizations to manage employee productivity and fight inefficiencies. Leader behaviors and presenteeism are thought to be at the forefront of the factors affecting the productivity of employees. Presenteism is a problem arising from the inability of employees to fully fulfill their duties despite being at work. On the other hand, the positive and negative feelings that leaders make their followers experience with their behaviors and discourses can affect the performance of their employees. In this context, dark leadership, which is defined as the negative reflection of the negative characteristics of the leader's personality on the leader's decisions and behaviors, has an impact on productivity.
This study was conducted to find out whether the dark leadership perceptions of the employees have an effect on presenteeism. In this context, the effects of harassing behaviors, insincere behaviors and bullying behaviors, which are the sub-dimensions of dark leadership, on the sub-dimensions of presenteeism, inability to concentrate on work and completing the work were evaluated. The research data were collected from the employees of the textile enterprises operating in Malatya. Questionnaire technique was used to collect the data, and a total of 513 questionnaires were evaluated. In the study, correlation and regression analysis were performed with the help of SPSS program. As a result, it was found that the dark leadership perceptions of the employees had a significant effect on presenteeism. Similarly, it was determined that the irritating behaviors sub-dimension of dark leadership had a significant effect on the sub-dimensions of presenteeism, inability to concentrate on work and completing the work. However, it was determined that the insincere behaviors and bullying sub-dimensions of dark leadership did not have a significant effect on the sub-dimensions of presenteeism, inability to concentrate on work and completing the work
